The innovation of SuDS systems

SUSTAINABLE URBAN DRAINAGE

Increasing urbanisation and climate change are putting a strain on stormwater management in cities. Sealed surfaces reduce the capacity of the soil to absorb rainwater, causing flooding and overloading of sewer systems. To meet this challenge, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDs) offer an effective solution, and among them is Aquanest, the modular system designed to ensure hydraulic invariance and efficient stormwater management.

The problem of urbanisation and water drainage

The expansion of cities has transformed the land, replacing green areas with roads, squares and infrastructure that prevent the natural absorption of water. This phenomenon has amplified the risk of flooding and sewer saturation, especially during extreme weather events. In addition, rainfall is less frequent but more intense, further exacerbating the problem. In this context, SuDs-based solutions are essential to restore the natural water cycle and mitigate the negative effects of urbanisation.

What are SuDs and why are they important?

Sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDs) are designed to manage stormwater in a more natural and sustainable way than traditional drainage systems. The main objective is to reduce surface runoff, allowing rainwater to infiltrate into the ground, be stored or gradually released. This approach not only helps prevent flooding, but also improves water quality, reducing pollution and protecting biodiversity. Aquanest fits perfectly into this logic, offering an innovative solution to ensurehydraulic invariance and promote a more sustainable management of urban water resources.

Aquanest: The Solution for Hydraulic Invariance

Aquanest is a modular system designed for the sustainable collection and management of rainwater. Its drainage structure favours infiltration and slowing down runoff, reducing the impact of rainfall on urban infrastructure. Thanks to its large storage capacity and certified mechanical strength, this system guarantees large and long-lasting performance.

Aquanest makes it possible to manage heavy rainfall by reducing its impact on urban infrastructure, exploiting the principle of hydraulic invariance.

The system is made of recycled polypropylene with mineral fillers, a material that ensures robustness and sustainability. Each module has a storage capacity of 479 litres, with an empty/full coefficient of 96%, and withstands loads of up to 60 tonnes according to SLW60 certification.

The advantages of Aquanest

Among SuDs systems, Aquanest stands out for its ease of installation, thanks to its low weight and optimised structure, which allows for quick installation without special equipment. In addition, the system is highly versatile, adapting to different water management needs: it can be used for infiltration, lamination or storage, depending on site characteristics and design objectives.

From the point of view of sustainability, Aquanest contributes to the restoration of the natural water cycle, reducing the load on sewerage networks and limiting the risk of flooding. As it is made from recycled materials that are fully recoverable at the end of its life, it complies with environmental regulations and the CAM Decree.

How does Aquanest work?

The Aquanest system can be configured in three main modes:

  • Infiltration: the dispersing basin allows water to seep into the soil, restoring the natural absorption capacity of the soil.
  • Lamination: by regulating water runoff, it prevents overloading of sewerage systems and prevents flooding.
  • Storage: allows rainwater to be collected for reuse in irrigation, fire-fighting or other technological uses.

Thanks to its modularity, the system adapts to different contexts, from green areas to driveways subject to the passage of heavy vehicles. The innovative design also facilitates maintenance and periodic inspection.

Application fields of Aquanest

Aquanest is used in many urban and suburban contexts. It is ideal for water management in car parks, streets, squares, public gardens and industrial areas. In particular, it can be installed under carriageable surfaces thanks to its large mechanical resistance, guaranteeing safety and durability.

The adoption of advanced systems such as Aquanest is a key step towards sustainable water management in cities. Thanks to its ability to ensurehydraulic invariance, this innovative Suds system helps reduce the risk of flooding, improve water quality and promote a more resilient and sustainable urban environment. With Aquanest, cities can meet climate challenges with state-of-the-art, effective and environmentally friendly solutions.
