AQUANEST
SUSTAINABLE URBAN DRAINAGE SYSTEM

Aquanest is the ideal solution for managing rainfall in urban areas, or in other words, a Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS).
Find out howModular urban storm water drainage systems are an extremely effective solution for managing extreme weather events. Designed to manage rainwater run-off through infiltration, slowing and retention, they significantly reduce the impact of extreme rainfall on urban infrastructures.
Moreover, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDSs) not only mitigate the effects of extreme weather events, but also promote greater urban resilience. It thus becomes possible to combine environmental protection with the protection of cities, making them safer and more liveable in the face of increasingly unpredictable and violent weather.
Aquanest is a geocell system consisting of 790x790 mm modules made from a blend of recycled polypropylene and mineral fillers of high mechanical strength.
The various components of the system and the accessories provided are designed for maximum functionality in terms of both installation (no clips or other fastening elements are required, as the modules feature an extremely quick and easy integrated coupling system) and structural design (there is no risk of the modules moving or becoming misaligned during or after installation).
Aquanest allows for the construction of underground reservoirs on 3 levels, with a maximum depth of 6 metres from ground level.
The module structure has a void-to-full yield coefficient of 96%, meaning that, for every cubic metre of volume, Aquanest is able to collect 960 litres of rainwater!
Aquanest is classified SLW60 according to DIN1072, and is capable of withstanding the pressure of a 60 tonne load (covered by an 80 cm layer of soil).
The system is guaranteed for well over 50 years. Unlike concrete, the plastic material is unaffected by moisture or other elements present in the soil.
Thanks to the double coupling system built into the shape of the modules themselves, the entire system works as a single structural element, and is capable of withstanding any mechanical stress.
The shape of the modules allows all of the most common video inspection and system cleaning tools to be used with maximum ease.
The system's modular elements allow any configuration to be obtained with maximum functionality, while at the same time guaranteeing lightweight and practical transport and installation operations.
The modules come stacked on pallets to optimise space during transport to the work site, for obvious benefits in terms of both costs and environmental sustainability.
Aquanest modules are made from recycled polypropylene, which can be 100% recovered at the end of its life, and is compliant with the environmental requirements of the CAM Decree.
The Aquanest system is designed to optimise transport and installation operations in any scenario, and at any type of work site.
Since the modules can be stacked and overlapped, a single truck with a 70 cubic metre loading capacity can transport all the elements needed to create a 400 cubic metre reservoir.
The elements are designed to guarantee the highest possible yield coefficient (96%): for each cubic metre of volume, the Aquanest system contains 960 litres of water.
Featuring inspection channels along both directions, the main elements of the Aquanest system simplify monitoring and cleaning operations with video inspection and high-pressure spray equipment.
Ground-level connection of D315/D400/D500 underground pipes to the sewerage systems is possible. The special truncated cone-shaped fitting ensures optimal functionality of the basin, even in places or work sites with limited space.
Using a hacksaw, the element can be cut to the desired diameter to make the pipe connection.
The top and side fastening components snap together without the need for accessories thanks to the special integrated clips, ensuring a perfect fit. They provide support for soil containment and ensure an optimal load distribution.
Some elements are equipped with shear matrices to connect the reservoir to D110/D125/D160/D200/D250/D315 pipes.
Optimised at 600 mm for the passage of video inspections and high-pressure water jets, the connector connects to the inspection module thanks to the reinforcement ring, which increases its mechanical strength.
The ventilation connection is designed to optimise the outflow and manage any overpressure. It guarantees a perfect connection with 160 mm diameter pipes.
When wrapped in a layer of non-woven fabric, the modules allow for the temporary storage and subsequent release of rainwater.
When wrapped in PEHD or PVC geo-membranes, the modules allow for water-storage (avoiding infiltration) for a future reuse.
The modules can be equipped with release pumps connected to the sewer system to better regulate the outflow and avoid potential flooding.
