Carbon footprint of the company
There are many aspects that are revolutionising the working culture of companies and the approach towards a market that is increasingly aware of the importance of the sustainability of processes and products and able to responsibly face the greatest challenge of our time: the climate crisis.
The European Green Deal, new EU regulations, and the imminent revision of sustainability reporting are just some of the most relevant issues that require a radical change, and the adoption of a transition path towards less impactful and more responsible production and consumption models.
In recent years, the criteria for assessing greenhouse gas emissions have evolved and we now have both robust calculation methods and internationally recognised databases. There is therefore a standardised parameter by which companies can measure their environmental impact: the Carbon Footprint.
Our decarbonisation plan
Certifying the carbon footprint of a company means measuring with extreme precision and in a standardised manner the environmental impact of all company processes, including the "downstream and upstream" phases of the organisation.
By choosing to take on this new challenge, Valsir has not only committed itself to verifying the real impact of its production activities, in accordance with the precise indications of the UNI EN ISO 14064 standard, but has also outlined a roadmap to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
This is an essential step because it defines a starting point: the beginning of a path. And because it allows further ambitious targets to be set, with the aim of reducing emissions through the implementation of appropriate measures, which include both activities to improve our ecological profile and offsetting initiatives (e.g. environmental redevelopment).
