Energy: production and consumption
The energy profile is a key factor in the long-term development of any industry, as it directly impacts the sustainability of production processes.
This is why our investment in renewable energy sources has been constant for more than a decade, as part of a strategic development that embraces the goals of Agenda 2030.
Photovoltaic park
The first energy efficiency retrofit works involved the roofs of the premises in Vestone back in 2011 with the installation of 1,000 kWp.
Since that moment, we have never stopped: each of our factories is equipped with its own system.
Today the Valsir photovoltaic park, which is constantly expanding, has reached a total power of over 8,000 kWp, and the main systems are:
- Vestone, 1.518 kWp
- Vobarno, 1.819 kWp
- Carpeneda, 1.470 kWp
- Roè Volciano, 686 kWp
- Verolanuova, 2.200 kWp
In recent years our plants have produced approximately 10,000,000 kWh of electricity, almost entirely used in our factories, divided as follows:
- 2022: 3.363.435 kWh
- 2023: 7.422.259 kWh
The entire photovoltaic park guarantees us to self-produce approximately 15% of the electricity we need, thus reducing the energy impact of our company.

Solar energy
In 2014, around 100 m2 of solar panels were installed to produce renewable thermal energy used both in production and for hygienic-sanitary purposes in the two factories in Vestone and Vobarno.
Trigeneration
In addition to renewable energy sources, we have added other resources, which are part of the company's sustainability path from another perspective: that of decarbonisation and reduction of harmful emissions.
Trigeneration refers to the combined production of electrical, thermal and cooling energy, which compared to separate (or traditional) production allows a considerable reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and a substantial saving of Primary Energy.
The trigeneration plant installed at the Valsir plant in Vobarno, which went into operation at the beginning of 2020, develops an output of 860 kWe and produces an amount of electricity equal to 50% of the entire site's needs.
By recovering the thermal energy contained in the combustion fumes, and by means of a 300 kWt shell and tube boiler, steam is produced at 10 bar, able to satisfy 95% of the requirements for production uses.
In addition, from the 615 kWt of thermal energy developed by the engine, hot water at 90°C is produced, which is used during the winter to heat 8,200 m2 of industrial space. During the summer season, the hot water is converted through an absorption system into chilled water at 12°C for cooling the production lines.
The trigeneration plant prevents the emission of 350 tCO2 into the atmosphere and reduces the share of Primary Energy by 20%.
