Against a complex economic and geopolitical backdrop, characterised by international instability, rising energy and supply costs, and increasing competitive pressure on European markets, Silmar Group closed 2025 with positive results in line with expectations, confirming the robustness of its business model and its ability to navigate a constantly evolving market.
The Group recorded aggregate turnover of €1.467 billion and invested more than 69 million euros, continuing on its path of industrial growth. Energy efficiency and self-generation, safety, quality, carbon footprint reduction, and product and process innovation remain at the heart of the strategy, alongside the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence and the “Dual Transition”, which integrates the ecological and digital transitions.
The ESG journey, launched over fifteen years ago, has also continued. The Group’s Italian companies met 54% of their electricity requirements from renewable sources, with around 15,000 MWh generated by photovoltaic systems. Taking energy efficiency measures into account, the proportion covered by renewable sources and sustainable solutions reaches 70%, helping to avoid the emission of 29,677 tonnes of CO₂. A key focus was also placed on people: over the course of the year, 71,399 hours of training were delivered, with a constant commitment to safety and prevention, alongside educational, sporting, cultural and social initiatives in support of local communities. Governance remains underpinned by ethics, integrity and transparency, through the 231 Models, Codes of Ethics and whistleblowing schemes.
The Group’s companies continued to develop in line with their respective target markets:
- Fondital continued to evolve its product range for the plumbing and heating sector, developing increasingly efficient and sustainable solutions and expanding its activities to assess the environmental impact of products (LCA). At the same time, it continued to develop within the automotive sector, with a particular focus on structural castings.
- Raffmetal consolidated its position in the production of high-performance recycled aluminium alloys, expanding its product range and strengthening technical support for customers. It also continued its commitment to progressively reducing the carbon footprint of its products.
- Valsir confirmed its position in the plumbing and heating sector, continuing to develop solutions for the construction and plant engineering sectors focused on quality, efficiency and sustainability. It has also introduced a new Energy Management platform integrated with artificial intelligence. During the year, the new production site in Prevalle was launched, dedicated to the expansion of the Recycling division.
- OLI strengthened its commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency and the circular economy. Among the key developments in 2025 was the launch of OLI70, the first flush-mounted cistern made from recycled plastic.
- Marvon continued its research and development activities aimed at improving quality and developing new products. Its commitment to health and safety at work and to staff training has also been central.
- Alba confirmed its ability to attract new customers and the strength of its commercial positioning, even against a backdrop of slowing global demand.
“Silmar Group is delivering sustainable and resilient growth, focused on creating long-term value. We will continue to invest in research and development, technology, the decarbonisation of processes and digitalisation, supporting the Group’s evolution by constantly strengthening the skills of our people, who represent our company’s greatest asset and a strategic lever for tackling future challenges.”
